    Listening to music

    posted by Jerry Horton

Hey, guys. I got an interesting question from rockchick21. Here it is: Hey Jerry!I have a question:You play music every day for a living,do you still enjoy listening to it like you did when you were young?or did your job changed the way you listen to it now?

I started answering this at least 6 times before settling on an idea. The reason I play music (which is the same reason for anyone who plays/writes music) is because I love listening to it, and the way it makes me feel. I am actually listening to music as i write this (Black Stone Cherry). I believe I have a better appreciation for it because I understand the mechanics of it, and the skill involved in writing music, but I love it just the same, if not more. Instead of just having music playing in the background while I am doing something, I sit down and listen to music (usually vinyl), to see if I can hear something new. I highly recommend it, if you can. You'd be surprised what you'll find.

Loved your answer. haha...that's funny....I can't even seem to come up with anything really intelligent to say to that! Ok.....well, first off, I LOVE music!! I love your music.....I love almost all music actually. There is not a day that goes by, without me setting the player on shuffle and just letting it play. I can be watching tv and there is still music on in the background. Weird? Could be....but that's just what I do!! haha I am seriously loving your answer though....just because you make your own music, doesn't mean a person should stop listening to others' music, that's what keeps you going!!!! Anyway....that's my addition to this post....pretty much done my rambling now!!

I wish I had the talent to play music so I'll just have to settle listening to it, which isn't bad when you have people like you and Jacoby making amazing stuff.

Well ive come down to this one question
What pushed you to become in this band when you first started it ?
Where do you get the ideas for new songs?

    Thanks jerry :D
